How the Service Works

1. You submit one description of the building, the work, the height and how long the scaffold has to stay up, with photos where you have them.
2. The request goes to LEADERR APPROVED scaffolding contractors and hire companies covering your area.
3. They contact you directly and quote.
4. You compare, appoint whoever you prefer, or nobody at all.

Nothing. The service is free to use and carries no obligation. You are not committed to accepting any quote.

Who Does the Work

Independent scaffolding contractors, hire companies and erectors operating across the Cape Town metro and the surrounding Western Cape. Your contract is with the company you appoint, not with this platform. We do not vet, rank or accredit them, and nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation of a particular company.

Before You Appoint Anyone

• Ask who the competent person appointed in writing for the scaffold is. Construction Regulation 16 requires that appointment.
• Confirm the scaffold will be erected and inspected to SANS 10085-1, with a handover certificate and an inspection register kept on site.
• Establish whether the quote is equipment only, or includes erection, dismantling and transport both ways.
• Check what hire period the price covers and what the extension rate is.
• Ask who inspects the scaffold during the hire, and how often.
• Ask about public liability cover and the amount.
• Establish whether a scaffold design or engineer sign-off is needed, and who pays for it.
• Where the scaffold touches a pavement or road reserve, ask who applies to the City of Cape Town for permission.
